Mid-length hairstyles offer a wide range of versatility and styles. You can add layers, bangs, streaks, keep it all one length; the possibilities are endless. Medium length hair is usually cut just above or below the shoulders. There are endless amounts of styles to choose from to suit all face shapes, hair textures, ethnicity's and ages. A very common technique is to cut several layers into the hair to add body and texture and different types of hair bangs to help frame the face.

When getting a medium length hairstyle that has been cut into a certain style, frequent visits to the hair stylist are a must to maintain that look. The great thing about medium length hair is that you can try a variety of different styles in a shorter period of time.

My sister recently went through a series of dramatic hair changes. Most of her life she had long layered brunette hair with a side part. But over the course of a few months she cut it into a mid-length layered cut with a heavy fringe before just cropping it all off into a pixie cut and bleaching it blonde.

What made her chop it all off after years of having the same hairstyle, it lead me to wonder if she was dealing with some inner turmoil that made her lash out in some physical manner. After a D&M I found out that she was sick and tired of her surroundings, she was over being single, she was over her job and she thought that a new and improved hairstyle would lead her into a new and improved life. So it would seem that while some of us change careers or travel overseas, many of us re-invent ourselves by changing our hair.

Some people are emotionally attached to their hair. When this happens and they don't want to be reminded of the past and want to feel like a new person then this is when drastic hairstyle changes happen. Some women who are getting older grow their hair to feel younger. Women who are pregnant or have just had a baby usually chop their hair off above their shoulders and women going through a break-up do all types or dramatic changes to their hairstyle.

People's hairstyles are not only a reflection on the inner emotional state of a person and how they chose to express themselves, but it plays a big role in how people are perceived. Different hairstyles significantly overpower whatever first impressions you gain from the face alone. So next time you feel you are having a bad hair day, don't think you are just being a drama queen as bad hair days have the power to significantly decrease self-esteem while increasing self doubt and intensifying social insecurities, fun!

When it comes to hair, most of us find our perfect look the hard way (lots of different colors, burnt hair, short haircuts, crazy bangs, lots of bleach - don't blondes have more fun?...these are the things I have gone through, it's not just my sister, must be in the genes). Once you find that perfect style for your hair it can be worth its weight in gold, make sure you always take a hairstyle picture with you to the beauty parlour.

You can use bangs (fringe) to help frame your face, accentuate your eyes and draw attention to your best features. There are many different types of bangs out there to suit all face shapes and hairstyles. Bangs are a great way to update your hairstyle with minimal risk. If you have long hair and are thinking of going short but too scared to take the plunge why not try a heavy blunt fringe first that way you can change your look drastically while still keeping the hair length.

Wispy Bangs:

This is the most minimal less dramatic style of bangs. You cut a small portion of hair to lightly drape over your forehead. It is easy to grow out if you do not like it. This hairstyle suits most face shapes.

Very Short Bangs:

This type of bang suits those with fine hair and should probably be avoided by those with thick unruly hair as it will be hard to tame. It is great for disguising large foreheads.

Blunt and Heavy:

This is the best style to bring out your eyes as it really draws attention to them. If you have a long face wear it round and soft and if you have a rounder face shape go for a sharper blunter cut.

Side Swept Fringe:

This fringe falls over one side of your face over one eye creating a mysterious effect. Looks great on oval, heart shaped, or square faces and it is great at minimising prominent features. Recommended to those with thick to medium textured hair.

Layered Feathered Bang

Bangs that have been razored or cut into, usually worn quite short. This style looks amazing with shorter hairstyles and on those with fine features.

Victoria Beckham is a style icon. The former Spice Girl is a trend setter in the fashion world and often makes headlines regarding her hairstyle. People want to know what the latest Victoria Beckham hairstyle or Victoria Beckham haircut is and how to get it.

Victoria Beckham's hair has gone through many style changes and in this picture gallery I have included her recent looks in the past few years. Lets begin with Victoria Beckham's most recent efforts the Victoria Beckham pixie look. Not a bad look for her although it makes her appear quite gaunt and fragile. Victoria Beckham can however pull it off with her thin frame and sophisticated style.

Not too long ago in 2007 Victoria Beckham donned a wonderful blonde hairstyle that was asymmetrical and very fashion forward. This Victoria Beckham haircut and color was a big show stopper. I must admit this was my favourite of all her hairstyles. It made her look youthful and radiant. But then I am a big blonde fan and think it usually looks better on most people.
